When I retired a few years ago, I took up painting and had lessons with a well known artist and character 'Charles Newington', who designed the large White Horse on the hill approaching Folkestone. Charles encouraged me to use many different art technics during his very unorthodox lessons, which usually envolved sharing a bottle of wine!
I have lived in New Romney, Kent for sometime now and have been lucky to be surrounded by a thriving artist community.
While living in New Romney I have had the pleasure of previously being; Chairman of 'Romney Marsh Art Society for 7 years, Chairman of the 'Lydd Forge Art Society'. I am currently a member of both; 'Folkestone Art Society' and St Marys Bay Friday Art Group',
Being involved with several art groups has been a great value to me, helping me to appreciate the many different art technics and styles. These influences have helped me develope my own approach to painting.
I have sold many paintings at various art exhibitions, craft shows, and through my Facebook page together with this website and hope that you to may find on my Gallery page a painting to tempt you into buying.
