Jeff has lived in New Romney, Kent for the last 11 years and has been lucky enough to be surrounded by a thriving artist community. Currently he is the 'Romney Marsh Art Society' Chairman and has been so for the last 7 years. in addition he belongs to both the Folkestone Art Society and an active small painting group St Marys Bay Art Group. At one time he was also Chairman, for three years, of the former Lydd Forge Art Group.
Being a Chairman of two art societies has been a great value to Jeff in appreciating different peoples attitude towards the many varied art technics and styles the societies artist members produce and use, These influences are reflected in Jeff's own work.
Before moving to New Romney, Jeff and his wife lived in Ashford and were co-directors of their own manufacturing company, which involved Jeff designing products and providing visual layout drawings for their clients.
However, when Jeff eventually retired some 11 years ago, He took up both playing golf and art painting. The golf has not improved much but hopefully you will agree his art has. Jeff will always be thankful to a well known Folkestone artist, now a friend, Charles Newington (designer of the large White Horse on the hill approaching Folkestone), who guided and taught him many useful art technics in his very unorthodox style of tutorage, which usually involved sharing a bottle of red wine!.
