I have lived in New Romney, Kent for the last 13 years and have been lucky enough to be surrounded by a thriving artist community. Previously 'Romney Marsh Art Society's' Chairman for 7 years, a member to both the Folkestone Art Society and an active small painting group St Marys Bay Friday Art Group. Also one time Chairman for the former Lydd Forge Art Group.
My involvement with several art groups has been a great value helping me appreciate the many different art technics and styles other artists use. These influences have helped develop my approach to painting.
Before moving to New Romney, my wife and I lived in Ashford and were co-directors of our own manufacturing company, which involved designing products and providing visual layout drawings for clients.
However, when eventually retiring some 12 years ago, I took up both playing golf and art painting. The golf has not improved much but hopefully you will agree my art has. I will always be thankful to a well known Folkestone artist, now a friend, Charles Newington (designer of the large White Horse on the hill approaching Folkestone), who guided and taught him many useful art technics with his very unorthodox style of tutorage, which usually involved sharing a bottle of red wine!.
Through exhibiting at various art exhibitions, craft shows and Facebook many people seem to have enjoyed looking at and purchasing my paintings and I hope you will too. Please visit this websites Gallery pages and if you like a particular painting and are interested in buying please click on the 'Contact page' and send a message detailing which painting and your contact details.
